Did you know that there are different varieties of strawberries, just like apples? At Twin Cities Berry Company we grow several different varieties ourselves! While they are all wonderful in their own way, each variety has subtle differences in things like taste, size, roundness; even resistance to disease. This page will outline each variety being currently grown. Eventually, we will also post our typical delivery schedule here to different co-ops around the Cities. This is to ensure you can grab some TCBC fruit at its absolute peak freshness.
This variety is best known for its out-of-the-park sweetness. If it seems like you just tasted ambrosia, it was probably Albion.
A brand newcomer. We have absolutely no idea how this french import will taste or grow in MN, but that's what makes life exciting, right?
Maybe the best all-around performer we grow. Deep red color, prototypical size, shape and sweetness.
Portola has a subtle sweetness for those more refined tastes, and a tint of orange that makes it visually stand out from its colleagues.
San Andreas is the largest fruit we grow. Dr. Petran once grew a San Andreas that weighed in at 63 grams! If there was a largest-strawberry contest at the MN State Fair, this is who we'd send.
An oldie but a goodie. Seascape has been a staple in the strawberry industry since the early '90s, while these other whipper snappers are only a few years old!
