2021 Seasonal Field Manager Wanted
Twin Cities Berry Co. is currently seeking to contract with a reliable, skilled, and experienced farm worker to serve as our 2021 seasonal field manager. In this role, you will maintain the impeccable taste and quality of TCBC fruits in our field while also representing us at Farmer’s Markets, primarily Wednesday evenings. To succeed in this position, you will be dedicated, hardworking, able to implement our field tasks at the highest level and charismatic when engaging with potential customers. This seasonal appointment is contracted for 3 months, from the beginning of July to the end of September, 2021.
Seasonal Field Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete weekly harvests at the farm
- Maximize yield potential by minimizing weed pressure
- Maintain our growing ecosystem of protected culture production (High tunnels, caterpillar tunnels and nets)
- Responsible for research project oversight (under the guidance of Dr. Petran)
- Manage our mid-week farmers market stalls (occurs in evening), responsible for transport
- Implement soil fertility regimens
- Provide consistent, regular project updates to Dr. Petran
- Maintain excellent consumer relationships at farmers markets
Seasonal Field Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree in agricultural/horticultural field preferred
- Previous farming experience preferred, especially in protected culture environments (high tunnels, caterpillar tunnels, etc.)
- Experience working with customers preferred, must be pleasant and outgoing
- Current, up to date driver’s license required
- Personal vehicle for getting to Farmington site, and capable of transporting supplies to-and-from farmer’s market
- Capable of lifting up to 80 pounds, must be comfortable with stretching, bending and crawling that comes with farm maintenance work
- Has own personal clothing supplies for completing farm tasks (proper work boots, gloves, etc.)

Estimated average work time for contracted field and market projects is 20-30 hrs/week but will vary week to week, with lower estimated project loads in the beginning and end of the season, and higher loads mid-season.
Compensation for completing contracted projects will begin at $400/week, and vary commensurate with previous experience and/or current workload.
